Off-Brand Yechh! Some Marvel Spoofs

Here are a few samples I made at the request of Mad Magazine a few years back when they were first converting to color. Gary Groth passed along my name to the editor at the time - believe it or not. These samples did not fly (maybe because they weren't spoofs of DC characters?), but someone recently reached out to me concerning a similar project, so stay tuned!

Kennywood's Open! Or, Is That a Picnic, or Are You Just Happy to See Me?

Here are some graphics I created for two freelance jobs. The first is a superhero illustration accompanying the profile of Dr. Elizabeth Winzeler, noted researcher into pediatric drug discovery, for a pharmacological publication. Second is a promotional campaign for Kenny Entertainment featuring the Picnic Pros, a group of superheroes who sold companies on outdoor festivities in the fabled amusement park.

Concoman: The Captain of Clean!

Here is a series of successful promotions I created for Conco Industries featuring a superhero mascot, Concoman - a cross between Captain America and Batman - rescuing a bevy of babes and solving a series of technical problems for cooling systems in industrial power plants. Materials included mailers and trade show display materials. Also shown are some early marker roughs, including a few rejected ideas.
